Tuğrul Pekgenç and Valeria Gypsette are a visual artist and co-creators of TRÆVOL, an art studio they develops in collaboration together. Their practice brings together visual storytelling, digital image-making, and a strong interest in the emotional worlds behind characters, symbols, and imagined histories.
Their work often explores identity, memory, mentorship, destiny, transformation, and the tension between vulnerability and strength. Drawing inspiration from mythology, popular culture, historical imagery, and personal reflection, Pekgenç & Gypsette creates cinematic compositions that invite viewers to look beyond the scene and consider the stories, relationships, and inner conflicts held within it.
A defining feature of his process is a close attention to atmosphere and visual detail. Light, texture, material, gesture, and composition are developed together to give each image a sense of depth and narrative presence. Their works evolve through a considered process of image refinement, reconstruction, portrait development, outpainting, enlargement, and compositing, with the aim of creating cohesive, exhibition-minded digital artworks.
Selected bodies of work include *Before the Kunai and the Blade*, which reflects on childhood, mentorship, and the paths that shape identity; *The Elemental Dîvân*, a portrait-led collection bringing distinct characters and elemental atmospheres together; and *The Sculptor of Myself*, an exploration of self-creation, personal struggle, and the effort to become whole. Across these projects, Pekgenç & Gypsette returns to a central question: how do our experiences shape the person we become?
Through TRÆVOL, Pekgenç and Gypsette are building a shared artistic identity grounded in imagination, craft, and narrative depth. Their work seeks to create images that reward both an immediate glance and a closer, more contemplative viewing.
