Medium: Opaque Acrylic / ink on treated canvas Surface: Processed cotton canvas Dimensions: 34.5 x 50 cm Year : 2025 Technique: The artist used self made opaque acrylic paint layered expressively with a palette knife and brushwork to create bold texture and color fields. Fine black ink was used to add detailed facial features and delicate line structures. The painting is executed on a processed cotton canvas that provides a smooth yet absorbent surface for acrylics and ink work. Artwork Description: A black river people are trying to survive, suspended within a woman made of the same sea water. She is a silent witness to the drowned, watching with one open eye unable to change fate. Her skin is painted in warm tones, yet the overall palette of the painting is dominated by cold colors: the sky, the sea, and the clothing. She sees it all. She witnesses everything. And the sea is huge! This expressive portrait shows a woman with her inked eyes opening and detailed facial features drawn with fine black lines. Bright acrylic colors create strong contrast, especially the orange light on her forehead and the cool blue in the background. Thick black paint around her neck looks like both clothing and something abstract like coming from the river itself . At the bottom, the wave-like shapes suggest the sea and maybe something deeper or symbolic. A small red flower in her hair adds a soft, lively touch to the painting. The artwork explores opposites calm and clear and unclear, real and imaginary.
